Cellular Images Launches With
this new
blog, I hope to push the expectations on how people
regard the little cameras contained in their cell phones.
Much like Chase Jarvis, author of The Best
Camera, I believe that the very best camera is
the one you have with you. And using the mantra of another
photographer I follow, David duChemin, "gear
is good, vision is better" I hope to inspire you
to take another look at how you can utilize your camera
phone to take great pictures. Using only various camera
apps available for my HTC Droid Eris, including Photoshop
Mobile and Camera 360, I'll be posting images on a daily
basis for your enjoyment . . . can't wait to hear what
you think!

Paul Michael Kane's FACES
launches. This
portrait-a-day blog is a follow up to my year long photo
challenge from last year. While the last photo blog had
no set theme, this new one will feature nothing but portraits.
For the next year, I'll be posting new portraits every day
(Monday - Friday) and challenging myself to hone what I
consider my weakest skill - shooting the perfect portrait.

Help a 4-year old fight Leukemia. I
am a firm believer that, in addition to a strong family
base, it takes a community to help raise a child. So when
I heard a 4-year old boy - a friend of my daughter's - had
been diagnosed with Leukemia, I knew I had to help out in
any way I could. So both my wife and I are donating blood
- we're both fortunate enough to share little Zachary's
blood type. But is that enough? Not even close!
So
that's where the community idea came to me. The internet
and all the social networking aspects of the World Wide
Web makes the 'community' a vast resource to draw from -
and this is my challenge. I want to raise money for Zachary
and his family. How? By utilizing what small amount of notoriety
I've gained with my passion - photography.
On
the site,
you'll find a choice of 10 prints. Each image is a 5x7 and
will be printed on Kodak's Endura Metallic paper. Each print
is $10.00 and will come signed by me with a thank you note
for your donation. That's right - your donation. I'll be
giving the proceeds from the sale of each and every print
to Zachary's parents.
But
your help doesn't stop with your donation . . . I need you
to pass this around to everyone - ALL your internet friends
and family. Post this link to your Facebook Wall. Write
up a MySpace bulletin. Tweet about it. Shout it out as loud
as you can.
I
want to prove not that one person can make a difference
in this little boy's life, but an entire World Wide Community
can make a difference. So take a look below at the choices
. . . pick one you like. Pick more than one! Pass it on
and let's do some good!

Photo-a-Day blog hits 8 months
I've added the 8-month video to my growing list of anniversary
vids featuring images from my Photo-a-day blog here.
Hard to believe I've only got 4 months of images left to shoot.
I plan on taking a month off, and then kicking off a new Photo-a-Day
blog with some sort of theme - of which I am not sure what
. . . yet!

PaulMichaelKane.com Relaunches
By now, you'll have already noticed that PaulMichaelKane.com
has a new look and new navigation. I decided to redo the site
to focus more on my photography, and less about the news I
was generating. So you'll see the galleries first and if you
choose - and I am always grateful you do - you can click on
the News button above to see what it is I am up to! I've thrown
my news archives on their very own page, which you can visit
here. The Prints/Books
section is an all inclusive store where you can buy stuff
directly from me - or through my various publishers. I am
very excited about the new site - so keep an eye out for more
frequent updates to the different galleries and more products
in the store! I am working up some very exciting stuff - of
which I'll be announcing here very soon!

Photo-a-Day Challenge reaches 6-month Point!
On April 9th, the my Photo-a-Day
challenge launched and here we are - 6-months later, marking
the half way point. With the rare exception, I've had a brand
new image debut each and every day with marvelous feedback
from followers on Blogger, Facebook, MySpace and more. In
addition to the images, every month, I've been collecting
each month's body of work into a video produced by Animoto.
What you'll see below is the 6-month entry. I've also collected
each video and posted them all here.
Enjoy!

KONXARI Tops the charts with
RUE MORGE Magazine!
The latest issue of Rue Morgue Magazine reviews
Konxari Cards, and has given the set top ratings in every category!
For those of you who don't know, Rue Morgue is
the largest Horror Magazine internationally. And Konxari Cards
feature 88 images all shot by me!
The
three categories that games are rated in Rue Morgue's
"Play Dead" section are Graphics, Playability, and
Shivers. Clearly these reviews are usually intended for video
games, but all the more reason the IRM Foundation is proud
to have dominated each aspect.
Says
Andrew Lee of Rue Morgue, "Ditch the
Ouija board and grab a Konxari deck. It's like having a Blackberry
from the other side."
