Thomas Derenick has been a professional illustrator for a little over 8 years now. He works out of his home in Taylor, Pennsylvania in a downstairs studio he set up when he received steady work. He began his career on an assignment for Cry for Dawn entitled Ahryssia and it was published in Subtle Violents in 1991. Shortly after, he worked for Malibu Comics where he penciled such titles as Protectors, Ferret, Gravestone and Exmutants.

"My time with Malibu was one of the best times of my life up to that point.
That's when I met R.A. Jones. He's become one of my closest friends ever since."

He has also worked on Star Trek for DC Comics, Scimidar for CFD Productions, Babylon Crush for Boneyard Press, as well as Night Thrasher,Venom, and Marvel Teamup for Marvel Comics where he fufilled a childhood dream by drawing the ever amazing wallcrawler, Spiderman.

"Spidey's been my favorite character since I was a kid, although my first
exposure to him wasn't through comicbooks. The first time I saw him was in reruns of the old Ralph Bashki cartoon series and from then on I was hooked."

Since then he's done a creator owned oneshot with his friend R.A. entitled
"Cybertrash and the Dog" for Silverline Productions as well as commissions and now his pieces on Ebay.

"I enjoy drawing women and Ebay gave me the opportunity to make some money doing it, but my first love is comics and even though the industry is still in a slump and I haven't done anything recently I don't intend to give up on them."

Tom and Dave, of "Comics on the Green."
